Thank you to everyone that supported and voted for the bond issue!

The voting public for the School District of Wapakoneta has a tremendous opportunity on Tuesday to make a difference. By voting “Yes” on the School Issue, we will commit $27.5M from the public to net a total of $66.1M for the Wapakoneta City Schools. To put it in simple terms, if you could invest $27,500 today and have it grow to $66,100 tomorrow would you do it? I know the answer is an absolute yes by everyone reading this. We all have that opportunity to make this investment decision on Tuesday for the children and grandchildren of this school district and the future of our community.

I moved here from Dublin, OH about three years ago. Dublin is one of the best school districts in the State of Ohio. Why did I do that? In my opinion, smaller schools can offer even more to our children than the larger school districts. In order to continue to say that, we need to stay competitive? Wapakoneta can and will compete if they are able to maintain and grow the facilities that we are able to offer to the public. Voting Yes on Tuesday will help us maintain this competitiveness.

I can also tell you that from being in other districts, our taxes in Wapakoneta in relation to others are not that high. In Dublin, the taxes were probably twice as high as our local taxes. We have it good in Wapakoneta and we need to vote YES on Tuesday to keep it that way.
